What to Bring
DO Bring: Your bib, your ID, spending money for vendors, a sense of adventure!
DON'T bring: Pets, coolers, glass containers, alcohol or tobacco products.
A gear check tag is on your bib, which will be placed on your bag when you drop it off. Make sure to hold on to your bib to pick up your bag after the race! Bag check opens at 5:30 am and closes promptly at 10:30 am.
Day-Of Packet Pick-up or Registration
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND picking up your packet ahead of time to ensure any registration problems are minimized (see packet pick-up locations).
Race Day Packet pick up and registration (if spots are still available) for the 15K, 10K, and 5K's will be held in the Ole Town Meeting House, located in the center of the western town (large green building across the bridge). Any offline donations raised can be turned in at the Check-in table at this time as well.
2018 Under Armour Short Sleeve Race Shirts
If you would like to purchase this year's UnderArmour race shirt on race day, they will be available at the Run Store by the finish line for $25, while supplies last. We recommend purchasing your shirt during the online registration process to save $10.
Starting Corrals & Wave Starts
As a way to reduce congestion at the start (we have a fairly narrow starting area), all 15K, 10K, & 5K participants will be organized in corrals based on your estimated per mile running pace. At the starting line, look for the corral markers with the "minute/mile" numbers on them and stand between your appropriate times (ie- if you run about 8 ½ min. miles, stand between the “8 Min Mile” sign and the “9 Min Mile” sign). Your official time will not start until you cross the starting line so it doesn’t matter where in line you start.
Wave start schedule:
- 15K – 2 wave starts, 2 minutes apart
- 10K – 4 wave starts, 2 minutes apart
- 5K's – 4 wave starts, 1 minutes apart (Trail in the 1st 2 waves and Road in the 2nd 2 waves)
Course Change for 2018
A few weeks back, RVR experienced significant flooding due to the heavy rains throughout the region. Unfortunately, several of our footbridges (including the one we use as a dry option for our trail races) were washed out. As a result, we will not be able to provide a dry option for our 15K, 10K and 5K trail races. Therefore, all trail runners will be crossing the river at very shallow locations in several spots along the trails. You WILL get wet and IT WILL BE AWESOME! The locations where you cross will be no higher than shin deep.
The 5K and 10K will have one mandatory water crossing (both in the last 1/3 of the race) and the 15K will have two spots where runners will cross the rivers. If you have any questions about these crossings, you can email email@example.com.
The 5K Road race was not impacted by the rains and will not have any changes to its course.
15K, 10K, & 5K Trail: Because of the challenging nature of these beautiful courses, we regret NO baby joggers, strollers, or pets allowed. Also, for your safety and the runners around you we suggest no iPod's or mp3 players on these courses, or audible music, due to their technical nature.
5K ROAD: Baby joggers, wagons, and strollers are welcome, as long as you start at the back, and are respectful to other participants. No pets please.
Water and/or Energy Drink Stops
We will be providing water on the course for all races and at the finish area. You may bring your own hydration, Hydropouch (ultra-light cup that clips on your belt) or use our provided cups.
ON COURSE WATER STOPS:
- 15k: 2.25 mile, 3.25 mile, 3.75 mile, 4.5 mile, 7 mile and 8.5 mile
- 10K: 2 mile, 3.25 mile, 3.75 mile, 4.5 mile
- 5K Trail: 1.25 and 2 miles
- 5K: 2.25 mile (the high point of the course)
- POST-RACE: Reusable cups will be provided at Finish Line & Post Race area
Located by the starting line, finish line, and Kidsfest.
Post-Race Round-Up & Awards Ceremony
Be sure to stay for the Post-race Round-up ceremony. We will recognize the top participants and runners up in each age group and hand out fundraiser prize awards. Finisher-food (including a FitFul Box, watermelon, protein bars, and more) will be available for race participants, as well as time to relax and cool down after the race with activities for the entire family.
