RVR Faith and Values

Core Values

These are the Five Core Values we believe not only reflect current RVR employees, but are values that represent those who have served at RVR over our 70+ year history. We use them to help us evaluate our work performance on a daily basis:

Rooted in Faith!

In every situation, acknowledge that God is in control and working for our good. In all decisions seek God and trust His will be done. Remain in Christ. (John 15, Phil 1:6, Rom 8:28, Heb 11:1, Heb 11:6, Prov 16:3)

Get to Sweep Floors!

Willing to take on any task with an attitude of gratitude. (Col 3:16, Col 4:2, Titus 3:1, Eph 5:21, Prov 22:4. Prov 11:2)

Always Better!

The relentless pursuit of improving every aspect of what we do and who we are. (Prov 3:13, Prov 16:22, James 1:5, 2 Peter 3:18, Prov 18:2, Prov 19:2)

Culture of Care!

Striving to show care through empathy that leads to action. (John 13:34; Col 3:12-14, Gal 6:10, Phil 2:3,4; Matt 7:12)

Find a Way!

Choosing to see obstacles as an opportunity to grow and accomplish more. (Matt 19:26, Prov 13:4, Ecc 9:10, Prov 10:4)

Statement of Faith

As an organization in the evangelical Christian tradition, we believe in the following statement of faith:

WE BELIEVE in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; and we believe that God created the Heavens and the earth out of nothing by his spoken word for his own glory.

WE BELIEVE that God has revealed Himself and His truth in the Bible, in Jesus Christ, and in his creation; We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original text, and are the infallible rule of faith and practice for Christians.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and was true God and true man, existing in one person and without sin. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and His ascension into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for believers.

WE BELIEVE our first parents, Adam and Eve, sinned by rebelling against God, thereby incurring both physical and spiritual death. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are condemned to eternal punishment and separation from God.

WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood and are forgiven all their sins. All who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives life to believers, thereby enabling them to understand the Scriptures and to live godly lives. The Holy Spirit equips the believer for worship, service and witness.

WE BELIEVE that the Church is the universal body of Christ composed of local communities of Christ’s followers. The task of the Church is to worship God, to share His love with one another in Christian community, and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth by word and deed.

WE BELIEVE in the blessed hope that Jesus Christ will soon return in power and glory to gather His own to Himself. After He has judged the nations and has accomplished His purposes for His Church, He will establish His eternal kingdom on earth forever.

WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting punishment of the lost, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved.

While we welcome guests from any faith or non-faith tradition in programs that we offer (ie- summer camps and programmed retreats), we reserve the right to decline retreat and outdoor education groups that compromise our faith beliefs.
