Where does the money come from?
Scholarships are made possible through direct donations of individuals and organizations. Scholarship money is not raised from the fees we charge our campers.
We begin accepting scholarship applications on October 1st each year, for the following summer camp season.
RVR offers scholarship assistance of varying amounts on a limited basis to prospective campers with financial need. It is our desire that no child miss out on an RVR camping experience because of financial circumstances. However, since our financial aid funds are limited, we suggest you look to alternative sources before applying for aid from RVR. Our online application form is below. If you are applying for more than one child, please be sure to add each child's information separately at the bottom of the application.
Note: You will only hear from us if you are selected to receive scholarship funds. We keep all applications on file throughout the spring and even into the summer in case funds become available.
After completing the application below on this page, if your child is selected, you will be notified by email. You may work with our scholarship coordinator to determine the level of assistance that will make camp possible for your child(ren.) Then, you will be sent a link to register your camper along with a unique discount code for the amount of your scholarship assistance. You must register and pay your $100 deposit within 2 weeks or your discount code will expire. If you do not complete your registration by paying your deposit, your registration will remain pending and your spot will not be held.

You are responsible for any balances after your scholarship assistance funds have been applied. Please also note that Financial Aid Scholarships cannot be combined with other discounts.

All prospective campers in financial need are eligible to apply. Campers who have not received aid before will be considered first. Applicants who have received aid in the past may still be eligible for aid as well so go ahead and apply even if you have received aid in the past.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee every request will be granted. We receive applications from over 400 prospective campers each year and normally only have funding for around 300 of those. Each application is reviewed and awards are made based on a number of different criteria.
No. If you are selected to receive a scholarship from RVR, you will get an email telling you so with instructions on how to register your camper and apply the scholarship. It is not until you receive that email that you have been selected for a scholarship. Once you follow that link to register, select a camp/week, add in the discount code and pay the deposit, your child will be actually registered for camp.
If you have already registered for camp, we will manually apply the scholarship to your existing registration.
