Arrowhead Woods Overnight Camp

The Arrowhead Woods Classic Camp experience is the perfect introduction to overnight summer camps at RVR. Camp all week in an authentic looking TeePee Village! Sound rustic? Well don’t let the old time look of the canvas teepees fool you. Just one peek inside reveals that campers will still enjoy the modern day conveniences of bunk beds, ceiling fans, and electricity! Also, Arrowhead Woods overnight summer camp boasts a climate controlled bathhouse, a giant pow-wow fire pit, and the modern Hilltop Hall dining facility. While camper’s imaginations run wild in the Native American setting from the past, they experience the amenities of today.

Is 5 nights too long for your camper (or maybe for mom ☺)? Try our preview week option for only 3-days and 2-nights. For older campers learn about RVR's other Maryland summer camps!

Completed Grades 2–3 | Ages 7–9

RVR understands that younger campers need to be nurtured. That’s why we go to great lengths to hire counselors that are "wired" just right for this age group, and prepare a program that is a perfect balance of fun, rest, and faith lessons. (sample schedule below)

Daily Schedule & Camp Activities

The number one question campers ask is “what will I do during the week?” Glad you asked. The sample schedule below lays out a typical week. A day is broken into three parts: morning, afternoon, and night.

During the morning activity time, AW campers will interact with other AW campers participating in age appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, archery, low ropes course, pool time, and staff led pony-rides. The goal of this time is to allow campers to connect with co-campers and challenge themselves with new experiences.

The afternoon time offers further new experiences. They'll stick together with their bunkmates and counselors as they explore a different engaging part of campus, Frontier Town, where they'll have access to an indoor gym, gaga, the creek, game room, and RVR's camp stores (Craft Shop, Wagon Wheel snack shop, and Tradin' Post merch). Then they'll head back up the hill for a special daily activity.

Evenings include a lively dinner meal time at Hilltop Hall, a camp-wide service with songs, skits and stories/lessons, and yet another special daily activity before winding down for the night.
