Get out of the classroom and let learning come alive in the beauty of nature with the exciting activities offered at RVR!
We believe the greatest opportunity for growth is in times of challenge. When we’re pushed to our limits we discover what we’re capable of and develop a deeper sense of character, courage, and self-esteem. RVR's experiential education program for schools is designed to engage students with exciting and challenging activities, with a dynamic teambuilding element built in to teach encouragement and celebration of one other's accomplishments!
There’s a lot to do at RVR. By choosing the activities and timeframe best suited to your group’s unique personality and specific goals, you decide what your RVR adventure will be!
School Day Trips
As an educator, we know you want to maximize your time outside of the classroom, and a 1-day field trip to RVR does just that! Our school day trip program is fine-tuned to fit right into your day. The moment your buses arrive on property our certified, professional, and fun-loving staff will greet your group, walk you through orientation, and get you going for the day.
Your 1-day school trip will include 1-2 morning activity sessions, a break for your students to enjoy lunch in our dining tent or alongside the scenic river, and 1-2 afternoon activity sessions before loading up the buses and sending you back on your way from a day full of adventure.
School Overnight Trips
If your schedule allows for more time, our overnight school trips open up a range of possibilities for your group to experience even more at RVR! Whether it's a 5th Grade, 8th Grade, High School Senior trip, or College organization retreat, our activities and facilities are ready for you. End the year or kick it off with a field trip to remember!
An overnight field trip allows you the flexibility to fit in more RVR activities (like the zip line or high ropes course), space out your schedule according to the needs or liking of your group, and mix in your own programming elements (lessons/teaching time, seminars, career counseling, etc...) utilizing our meeting spaces or other facilities. An extended school trip also maximizes the impact of getting your students out of their everyday environment and comfort zone, where their character and personal goals can be challenged and inspired for the school year and beyond.
Homeschool Field Trips
Offered in the Spring and the Fall, our Homeschool Days provide the opportunity for students ages 9-17 to get out of the classroom and let learning come alive! RVR's adventure activities provide a uniquely fun and wholesome way to engage kids and get them out of the house, bonding with their peers and building confidence to take on new personal challenges. RVR wants to come alongside you as the parent to see your educational and character goals realized for your students, who also happen to be your kids!
What to Bring on your Trip
One of the many benefits of a field trip to RVR is the convenience and confidence you can have when it comes to planning.
RVR's activities come complete with all the equipment you'll need to enjoy them. Some activites do require that certain clothing be worn like closed-toe shoes and long sleeves/pants. Most day trip school groups pack their own lunches and bring them on the bus ride, and most overnight groups utilize RVR's food services to provide delicious meals. Overnight retreats will require bedding and other personal essentials as well. With everything else you're juggling as an educational professional, we strive to make the planning process as seemless as possible for you!
