RVR Residents play a crucial role in accomplishing RVR’s mission to cultivate a wholesome environment where guests and staff may grow towards their full, God-given, potential.
Ministry work at RVR is seasonal in nature, meaning that residents will find that their work varies greatly throughout the year, but the main areas that residents contribute to are as follows:

Guest Group Programs
From late September through early May, RVR offers rental retreats, programmed retreats, and outdoor education programs to churches, schools, and businesses in our community. Residents help in weekly property preparation, program planning, and facilitating of these groups. Guest group support is: functioning as a group liaison, running activities, supporting food service, cleaning, blowing leaves, shoveling snow, and more!

Summer Camp
Work alongside full-time staff to prepare & make major contributions to programs in the months leading up to summer camp. Whether creating service elements, improving activities, or planning staff care, residents help make camp happen! Residents are placed in a summer role that allows them to implement all they've gleaned & there’s no better way to finish out the year than the high impact, crazy fun environment that is summer camp!

Recruiting & Engagement
Summer camp doesn’t happen without both summer staff and campers. Residents help in the important work of recruiting college-aged summer staff in the local community and regional colleges/ministries, as well as strategic events to attract families and campers locally to send their kids to RVR for an impactful experience.

Teens 'n Training Program
The TNT program at RVR is a hybrid work/discipleship program for 14-17 year olds during the summer and during guest group retreat weekends. For many TNT these weekends are their first real job, and residents get an opportunity to practice leadership, team management, and spiritual mentorship as crew chiefs during these weekends (possibly in a summer role as well).
