After prayerful consideration, we are sad to announce that we will no longer be offering the Star-Spangled Evening in the Valley ("Rodeo & Fireworks Day") at RVR.

We recognize that this event has become a summer tradition for many families over the years, and it has always been our honor to host guests from our community. Unfortunately, it has become unsustainable for us to continue with Rodeo & Fireworks Day, particularity during our busiest season. Over the years, our summer camp programs have grown to the point where they are operating at capacity. The Star-Spangled Evening in the Valley placed tremendous pressure on our staff to execute this event during summer camp, without compromising the high standards that the community expects and deserves. In addition, the cost of holding the event now exceeds the resources needed to produce it, which makes it unsustainable for our ministry.

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to this event, and a much-loved piece of RVR history. Attending a summer rodeo at RVR has become a wonderful tradition for many families over the years. Despite our sadness, we are confident that this is the right and necessary decision for our ministry, and we pray for your understanding and support. We will continue to create events that serve our community, and programs that share God's love. In the meantime, please consider attending our River Valley Run Trail Festival on August 17, 2019. We have designed this event to be family friendly, with activities for kids of all ages; and accessible for walkers and runners at every level.

We thank you for your support of RVR, and for the life-long memories from Star-Spangled Evenings in the Valley that we’ve shared over the years. We hope to see you again at one of our events in the future.
