Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about
paintball at RVR. If you have a question that isn't answered below then give us a call
at 443-712-1010 ext.121 or
and we'll gladly answer!
What is a paintball? What is it made of?
A paintball is a small round ball filled with a non-toxic, non-caustic, and
water-soluble colored paint. The shell is made of gelatin comparable to the
gelatin used in round vitamin capsules. Also, all of the paintball is biodegradable
and is even edible, but obviously we don’t recommend it!
I’ve played paintball at RVR before. Now that RVR is low impact paintball, how has the game changed?
Will the summer paintball camp become low impact paintball?
Does a paintball hit hurt?
Most .68 caliber fields describe the pain of a hit similar to the snap of a rubber
band on your skin. With the lower impact of our .50 caliber paintballs it is less
painful than that!
Is paintball safe?
Yes. In fact, the National Safety Council cited paintball with having less annual
injuries than fishing. Thus making paintball safer than fishing.
What should I wear?
Paintball is a physically demanding sport played outside in wooden areas with
weathered elements, involving lots of running from bunker to bunker. Our fields contain
various elements, vegetation of all kinds, and rocks. For your safety, we advise
that you follow our clothing list and play in clothes that can get dirty:
- A long-sleeve shirt/hoodie or sweatshirt
- A beanie or hat (this will help your mask stay on your head)
- Pants (Please, no shorts or yoga pants of any kind)
- Tennis Shoes/Non-metal cleats (Person’s wearing sandals or flip flops
of any kind will not be allowed to play)
Dressing in layers is also encouraged. As the day gets warmer you can
remove layers for comfort.
Will the paint wash out of my clothing?
Yes it will! Just make sure to wash it right away.
Can I bring my own equipment to Low Impact Paintball games?
Being committed to providing a family-friendly field, we do not allow players to bring
their own paintball markers (guns) to low impact play. Most personal markers shoot a .68 caliber paintball
while our low impact paintball marker’s shoot a .50 caliber paintball. Allowing players
to use their personal markers would result in more pain than our low impact markers and
would negate the low impact paintball experience.
Do you have a group of 10 or more, all owning their own paintball markers?
If so, we CAN offer a private session just for your group. Call us today!
Is my deposit refundable if plans change?
If you cancel more than 2 days before your scheduled day of play, you can receive a full
refund of your $50 deposit. This $50 deposit is made when you book so that your
date is secured. If you cancel within 2 days of your booked session, there are
no refunds but you have 1 year to reschedule at no additional cost. If you cancel
the day of your session there is a $50 rescheduling fee.
Will my group have exclusive access to the fields and staging area?
No. Birthday or private groups will not have exclusive use to our staging areas
and fields. However, when it comes to playing paintball, we will never have
separate groups playing against each other without consent. You will always
play against and with those who are only in your group. Interested in booking
exclusive use of our Paintball Facility? Give us a call for details.
Is paintball available to book year-round?
Private group/birthday booking is available in the Spring and Fall. Due to RVR's busy Summer
Camp and Winter Meltdown programs, it is not
available from mid-December to
, and from June to August
If you're looking for some Summertime paintball action, though, be sure to
check out RVR's overnight, week-long paintball summer camps for 9-12 year olds,
and for 12-17 year olds!
