Race Day

Race day is October 14, 2023 and we can't wait for you to join us for one last, epic, memorable trail festival together! Plus, we've got some EXTRA fun things planned for this final festival, including climbing towers, s'mores pits, live music, a photo booth, and raffle giveaways!

The River Valley Run Trail Festival will take place rain or shine! In the event of extreme weather conditions that day, it is possible we may adjust the start time or make other changes, in which case you will be notified via email and on our website.

*Parking Note* If primary parking field fills there will be an overflow parking area from which people will be required to take a shuttle. Make sure you allow enough time for that possibility when deciding your arrival time.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet pick up will be available on race day starting at 6:30am and open until the last wave of the 5k starts at 10am. Packet pickup is also available the Thursday before the race in Hunt Valley. Please see the before the event page for more information on our earlier Thursday packet pickup option.

Picking up someone else's packet? You must bring a copy of their confirmation or a letter, text or email giving permission for you to pick up on their behalf.

Parking & Bag Check

You will have to walk a bit from the parking area to packet pickup and the race start. We will be offering bag check this year if you would like to store items near the event and do not wish to walk back to your car. Please note: YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BAG FOR BAG CHECK. Bag check will be located near the registration area. If you wish to wear a sweater then discard before the race, we will have a clothing donation box for discarded jackets or sweaters that you may wish to donate at the start of the race. Please keep in mind that you will not be able to retrieve these clothing items after the race.

What to Bring

DO Bring: Your bib with emergency contact written on the back, an extra pair of shoes to drive home in (your race shoes will get wet!) your ID, spending money for vendors, a bag if you intend to use bag check, and a sense of adventure!
Do NOT bring: Pets (NO DOGS or other pets on campus), coolers, glass containers, alcohol or tobacco products.

Course Restrictions

Because of the challenging nature of these beautiful courses, we regret NO baby joggers, strollers, or pets allowed. Also, for your safety and the runners around you we suggest no headphones or audible music on these courses, due to technical nature.

Cut Off Time

In order to help our races run smoother and more efficient, we have implemented a cut off time for the half marathon. The cut off time will be 3 and a half hours and the distance will be the 11 mile mark. We feel this time and distance is fair and very attainable.
